Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the Tafelo app and its services, provided by Tafelo. By using the app, you agree to them. How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy. Questions? Email hello@tafelo.app.

The app

Tafelo lets you save recipes, plan menus, make shopping lists and cook step by step. You don't need an account. Your recipes and other content are stored on your iPhone and, if you turn it on, in your own iCloud.

You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, or use the services in a way that disrupts or overloads them.

Smart features

Some features use an external AI service, for example to get a recipe from a photo or link, suggest menus or answer questions. Answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes.

Always check recipes yourself, especially quantities, cooking times, temperatures and food safety. Nutrition values and allergen information are estimates, not medical or dietary advice. If you have an allergy or a medical diet, always check the ingredients yourself.

To keep the service affordable and fair, reasonable usage limits apply, including with Premium.

Your content

Recipes, photos and notes you add remain yours. Only add content you are allowed to use; copying other people's recipes, texts or photos is your responsibility. If you share a recipe or a poll, anyone with the link can see that content.

Photos you search for in the app come from external photo services; the photographer is credited with the photo. Only use them within the app.

Premium and credits

Premium is a subscription you take out through the App Store. It renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the period in your Apple account settings. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms.

The free version gives you a limited amount of credits for smart features each month. You can also buy credits. Purchased credits are personal, have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or transferred. The app shows how many credits a feature costs. We may change the amount of free credits and what features cost at any time, for example if the cost of the smart features changes. Credits you have already bought stay yours.

The free version shows ads. With Premium, or as long as you have purchased credits left, you see no ads.

Availability and changes

We do our best to keep Tafelo working well and securely, but we cannot promise that the app and the smart features will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or discontinue features. If needed, make your own backup of your recipes via Export and import.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage caused by using the app, by automatically generated content or by the service being temporarily unavailable. Your statutory rights as a consumer always remain.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple's standard terms for App Store apps also apply (Apple EULA).

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms, we will post the new version on this page with the date at the top. These terms are governed by Dutch law; mandatory rules of the country where you live continue to apply.
