TafeloAI recipe generator: a complete recipe from a name, photo or text
Craving something, but no recipe? Type the name of a dish, take a photo or paste some text. Tafelo's AI turns it into a complete recipe, and you save it straight to your own collection.
A name is enough
Type, say, “pumpkin soup with ginger” or the dish you had on holiday. Tafelo writes out the recipe with ingredients, amounts, steps, servings and cooking time, and estimates the nutrition per serving. The recipe comes in your iPhone's language, with your units.
- A timer on the steps that need one
- Details like cuisine, main ingredient and diet, so you can find it again later
- You see the recipe first and only save it if you want to
From a photo or text
Take a photo of a cookbook page, a recipe card or your grandmother's handwritten recipe, and Tafelo turns it into a clear recipe. A photo of a dish works too: Tafelo sees what's on the plate and writes a recipe for it. Or paste some text or a link from a website, Instagram or TikTok.
What can you make with what you have?
Pick your ingredients or take a photo of them. Tafelo first shows which of your own recipes you can already make. Want more? The AI comes up with ideas using those ingredients, and you have the one you choose written out as a recipe.
Variations and a photo
Turn a recipe into a variation, for example healthier or vegetarian. With Premium or purchased credits, the AI also makes a photo of your dish. Without, you get a matching stock photo for free, or you use your own photo.
Honest about the costs
A new recipe costs 5 credits, a variation 5 and an AI photo 16. Ideas for your ingredients cost 1 credit. You get 15 welcome credits at the start that never expire, plus 5 free credits every month: enough for 4 recipes right away. Typing in, saving, searching and cooking recipes is always free.
- Premium: up to 50 credits per 5 hours and 10 AI photos a month
- Credit packs without a subscription; purchased credits never expire
- How many free credits you get may change if AI costs require it
FAQ
Good to know

You start for free, with 15 welcome credits and 5 credits a month. A recipe costs 5 credits. When they run out, choose Premium or a credit pack, or wait for your new monthly credits.
How good are the recipes?
The AI writes a recipe with common amounts and clear steps, but it's still a suggestion: give it a quick read and adjust it to your taste. The nutrition values are an estimate.
What language is the recipe in?
Your iPhone's language, with the units you set there. A photo or text in another language also becomes a recipe in your language.
What goes to the AI?
Only what you send for that recipe: the name, photo, text or link. It goes through Tafelo's server. Your recipes themselves stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud.
